located on the Danube river waterway. Its first inhabitants were Catholic monks, who had a monastery in the place and lived apart from the rest of the city.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>At that time, <strong>Margaret Island<\/strong> was known as Rabbit Island, but it was later named in honor of Princess Margaret, who was the daughter of a powerful Hungarian king and a saint of the Catholic Church.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Over the years, Margaret Island had different owners, from Austrian kings to Hungarian nobles, everyone wanted a small space in the place.
