<a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/florencia\/florencia\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Florence<\/strong><\/span><\/a> was a very small city. It certainly did not have the size or cultural importance of Rome, Milan or Naples, but that did not stop more and more people from settling in the place, and starting to make it the most populous metropolis in Tuscany.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>That was the case of the Bolonian friars who, arriving in Florence in 1221, began the construction of a small temple, and without knowing it, they took the first steps to create the <strong>Santa Mar\u00eda Novellla Church<\/strong>.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>During centuries, the chapel underwent numerous reforms, in which it was enlarged, redecorated and a new facade was added.
