history of the Obelisk?<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2a2cdaa elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2a2cdaa\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>At the beginning of the 20th century, <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/en\/buenos-aires-en\/buenos-aires\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Buenos Aires<\/strong><\/span><\/a> grew at a rapid pace, and its old buildings gave way to modernity. Among the old buildings that were demolished, there was an old church, famous for being the place where the flag of the Republic of Argentina was raised for the first time.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>In the space that this left, a new central square was created, which in the future would become the heart of the city, both for its location and for its famous obelisk.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>This monument was made to commemorate the creation of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The project for its construction began in March 1936, and in May, just three months later, it was already finished.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Obelisk<\/strong> was also made to join the new Plaza de la Rep\u00fablica with the also new Avenida 9 de Julio.
