#808080;\">Cathedral<\/span> of <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/en\/seville\/seville\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Seville<\/strong><\/span><\/a> is old, its history began in the middle of the 11th century, when southern Spain was still under Muslim rule.Back then, a mosque was built in the same place where the cathedral stands today. This mosque became a church after the Catholics conquered Al-Andalus.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>However, the passage of time had affected the structure of the mosque, and it was at risk of collapsing. For this reason, the city administration decided to tear it down, and build a new church.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The construction of the Cathedral of Seville that we see today, began in the year 1434, and lasted for more than two centuries.
