most of its territory is made up of islands, and only a small part of it is linked to continental Europe.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>This makes <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/en\/copenhagen\/copenhagen\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Copenhagen<\/strong><\/span><\/a> the perfect place to create ports and canals, which have been present throughout the city&#8217;s history. To take full advantage of this geographical position, King Cristi\u00e1n V ordered the creation of a large canal, which would allow the entry of more ships and the growth of the local economy.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In this way, the construction of the <strong>Nyhavn Canal<\/strong> began. When it was finished, it quickly became one of the main access routes to Copenhagen, as well as one of its liveliest areas.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Despite this, Nyhavn did not always have a good reputation among the citizens, as it was a place known for the illegal acts that were committed there.
