government and Greek cultural traditions are the most practiced throughout the country. But this was not always the case, since this Mediterranean nation was, for many centuries, under Ottoman rule.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Greek independence came in 1832, after a long war of emancipation. However, the problems did not end there, as without Turkish leaders, Greece did not have a formal government.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Later, the Hellenic nation was transformed into a kingdom, and together with the establishment of the monarchy, a project of urban reforms also arrived. One of the spaces that were created at the request of the queen, was the National Garden, an extensive area covered with the most beautiful and exotic plants, which were brought from all over the world.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In its beginnings, this garden was private, and only members of the royal family and the nobility could enter it.
