Many entrepreneurs in Montevideo began to create modern headquarters and factories, leaving colonial architecture behind.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Among that group of entrepreneurs were the Salvo brothers, who led a thriving textile business. The Salvos wanted to create a building, but not a common one, but a building that stood out across the continent.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In this way, the construction of the <strong>Salvo Palace<\/strong> began, a huge neo-Gothic and Art Deco building, which would become a symbol of Uruguayan identity.
