monumentos hist\u00f3ricos, que son vestigios vivos del legado que la civilizaci\u00f3n hel\u00e9nica ha dejado al mundo occidental.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Seguramente has escuchado o le\u00eddo alguna vez acerca de Zeus, el dios m\u00e1s importante de la mitolog\u00eda griega, y en el <strong><em>Olimpeion<\/em><\/strong> o <strong>Templo de Zeus Ol\u00edmpico<\/strong>, encontrar\u00e1s una impresionante obra arquitect\u00f3nica erigida entre los siglos VI a.C. y II d.C., que fue testigo de los periodos cl\u00e1sico, helen\u00edstico y romano de la <strong>ciudad de<\/strong> <strong>Atenas<\/strong>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Sus enormes y avasallantes columnas de 17 metros de alto, convirtieron este templo en el m\u00e1s grande de Grecia en su momento, hasta que aparentemente a causa de un terremoto en la Edad Media, su estructura result\u00f3 gravemente afectada, lo que, sumado al paso de los siglos, lo condujo a su estado actual de parcial tan solo 500 metros de la <strong>Acr\u00f3polis<\/strong>, otro monumental espacio que simboliza a la <strong>grandiosa Atenas<\/strong>. Incluso es posible obtener espectaculares vistas del Templo de Zeus Ol\u00edmpico desde la monta\u00f1a coronada por la Acr\u00f3polis, lo que propicia un magn\u00edfico escenario para tomar unas fotos de ensue\u00f1o.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Asimismo, este templo se encuentra a menos de un kil\u00f3metro de la emblem\u00e1tica <strong>plaza Sintagma<\/strong>, y a poco m\u00e1s de un kil\u00f3metro y medio del din\u00e1mico y popular sector de <strong>Monastiraki<\/strong>, dos <strong>\u00edconos urbanos de Atenas<\/strong> que todo visitante debe conocer.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>En ambas zonas podremos encontrar una gran variedad de caf\u00e9s, restaurantes y tiendas que har\u00e1n mucho m\u00e1s agradable nuestro recorrido hacia el monumento, adem\u00e1s de permitirnos conocer rasgos propios de la identidad ateniense.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>En ese sentido, y si cuentas con suficiente energ\u00eda, podr\u00e1s llegar c\u00f3modamente a pie desde alguno de esos puntos hasta el <em>Olimpeion<\/em>.
