Francia era una de las monarqu\u00edas m\u00e1s poderosas de la regi\u00f3n, y era gobernada por el rey, Enrique IV y su esposa, la reina Mar\u00eda de M\u00e9dici. La regente proven\u00eda de una influyente familia italiana, de gran riqueza y mucho prestigio.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Mar\u00eda de M\u00e9dici no tard\u00f3 en separarse de la corte francesa, con la que nunca tuvo una buena relaci\u00f3n. Para lograrlo, abandon\u00f3 el Palacio de Louvre, sede de la corte, y se traslad\u00f3 al <strong>Palacio de Luxemburgo<\/strong>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Este palacio, hecho siguiendo el estilo de los castillos florentinos, fue un encargo de la misma reina, quien financi\u00f3 su dise\u00f1o y construcci\u00f3n.
