los principales medios de transporte venecianos desde hace 500 a\u00f1os<\/strong>, y actualmente, es utilizada por turistas que desean ver la ciudad desde los canales. Adem\u00e1s, algunas g\u00f3ndolas son propiedad privada de los gondoleros.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Alrededor del a\u00f1o 1500, hab\u00eda unas mil G\u00f3ndolas en uso en la ciudad<\/strong>. Hoy, existen aproximadamente 200 g\u00f3ndolas navegando por los canales de Venecia, y se ven muy diferentes si se las compara con las utilizadas en el pasado. La palabra \u00abg\u00f3ndola\u00bb fue mencionada por primera vez en un documento oficial que data de 1904.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Seg\u00fan la ley veneciana, <strong>solo hombres nativos de Venecia pueden convertirse en gondoleros.<\/strong> Por otro lado, aprender a manejar el remo de las g\u00f3ndolas no es f\u00e1cil, y requiere mucho entrenamiento.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Dicho remo se mueve de una forma espec\u00edfica conocida como <em>forcola<\/em>, y consiste en una compleja serie de movimientos que permite a los gondoleros manejar su barco con precisi\u00f3n por los canales venecianos, que a veces son muy estrechos.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>El remo se usa para avanzar, girar, disminuir la velocidad y marchar en reversa<\/strong>. El adorno frontal de las g\u00f3ndolas, conocido como <em>ferro<\/em>, tiene otros usos adem\u00e1s de ser un objeto decorativo.
