uno de los tantos dominios romanos ubicados en la amplia costa del Mediterr\u00e1neo, su ciudad principal, <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/atenas\/atenas\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Atenas<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, hab\u00eda resistido el paso de incontables siglos de historia.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Los atenienses ten\u00edan una metr\u00f3poli con identidad propia, y los romanos conoc\u00edan el inmenso legado cultural que hab\u00eda en la ciudad. Sin embargo, Atenas deb\u00eda expandirse, crecer m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de sus l\u00edmites tradicionales y para poder hacerlo, hab\u00eda que marcar una frontera entre la ciudad vieja y la ciudad nueva.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>No se sabe si la persona que encarg\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n del arco fue, realmente, el emperador Adriano. Igualmente, el arco es f\u00e1cil de reconocer, ya que mide 18 metros de alto y est\u00e1 hecho completamente de m\u00e1rmol.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Adem\u00e1s de su importancia hist\u00f3rica, el Arco de Adriano tambi\u00e9n es un tesoro arquitect\u00f3nico de incalculable valor. Su dise\u00f1o es sencillo, pero se ha mantenido en pie durante 19 siglos, sin sufrir casi ning\u00fan da\u00f1o.
