Londres<\/strong>, hay que remontarnos en el tiempo, hasta una \u00e9poca en la que Inglaterra era muy diferente a como es hoy en d\u00eda. La torre fue ideada por el legendario monarca Guillermo el Conquistador, y fue construida con el prop\u00f3sito de defender Londres contra posibles invasiones sajonas.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>El rey Guillermo era descendiente de vikingos, y fue el primer rey normando de Inglaterra. Para asegurar su reinado, era muy importante que controlara el comercio y los accesos a Londres a trav\u00e9s del r\u00edo T\u00e1mesis. Por ese motivo, el castillo fue construido junto a la rivera de este importante paso fluvial, en donde ha permanecido desde hace m\u00e1s de 900 a\u00f1os.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Con el transcurrir del tiempo, otros reyes ingleses como Ricardo Coraz\u00f3n de Le\u00f3n, Eduardo I, Ricardo II y Enrique III, fueron ampliando la construcci\u00f3n.
