castillo data de los primeros siglos de la era moderna, y fue un trabajo encargado por el Emperador Adriano. Este quer\u00eda un magnifico mausoleo para \u00e9l y su familia, que estuviera cerca de la rivera del T\u00edber y conectado con el Puente Romano.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p>Sin embargo, el castillo no tard\u00f3 en convertirse en un edificio militar, y m\u00e1s tarde pas\u00f3 a formar parte de Muralla Aureliana. A pesar de ello, el verdadero protagonismo del <strong>Castillo de Sant\u2019Angelo<\/strong> llegar\u00eda siglos m\u00e1s tarde, cuando se convirti\u00f3 en un s\u00edmbolo de esperanza para los ciudadanos de <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/roma\/roma\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Roma<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, que en ese momento sufr\u00eda los efectos de una terrible epidemia de peste.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan la leyenda, el papa Georgio I tuvo una visi\u00f3n, en ella aparec\u00eda San Miguel sobre la torre m\u00e1s alta del castillo, sosteniendo una espada con la que daba fin a la plaga.
