\u00e9pocas posteriores, un continente conflictivo, en donde las poblaciones ten\u00edan que protegerse de asedios y posibles invasiones. Por ese motivo, distintas ciudades como Segovia, Toledo y <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/madrid\/madrid\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Madrid<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, crecieron dentro de las delimitaciones marcadas por sus murallas.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>En el caso de Madrid, las murallas jugaban un papel importante, ya que no solo deb\u00edan &nbsp;&nbsp;proteger a los ciudadanos, sino que tambi\u00e9n les correspond\u00eda permitir el paso de los viajeros y del comercio.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Esta es la raz\u00f3n por la que una de las puertas m\u00e1s importantes de Madrid, la de Alcal\u00e1, tiene forma de arco.
