Bocca della Verit\u00e0, que est\u00e1 ubicada en una iglesia romana conocida como Santa Mar\u00eda en Cosmetin, es origen de much\u00edsimos enigmas. Esta m\u00e1scara est\u00e1 hecha de m\u00e1rmol, por lo que al momento de su creaci\u00f3n, debi\u00f3 haber sido relativamente valiosa.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Sin embargo, se desconoce qui\u00e9n fue su autor, cu\u00e1l era su funci\u00f3n original, por qu\u00e9 se ha mantenido tan bien conservada a lo largo del tiempo y cu\u00e1l es su verdadero significado.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Todas estas preguntas han incentivado la imaginaci\u00f3n de muchas personas. Quienes desean darle sentido a este antiguo monumento, una de las teor\u00edas m\u00e1s aceptadas es que en sus inicios, la <strong>Bocca della Verit\u00e0<\/strong> fue una pieza decorativa de una antigua estatua.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Del mismo modo, las leyendas que rodean a la Bocca della Verit\u00e0 tambi\u00e9n son muy variadas, pero la m\u00e1s extendida es la que afirma que, al meter la mano en la boca de la estatua, esta puede decidir si la persona es mentirosa o no.
