que pas\u00f3 a ser mercado <\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-106bfaec elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"106bfaec\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>En el lugar donde hoy se alza el <strong>Mercado de Santa Caterina<\/strong>, exist\u00eda anteriormente un convento del mismo nombre que se mantuvo en pie durante m\u00e1s de tres siglos. El convento fue cerrado y destruido en el a\u00f1o 1837, y en la misma zona inicio la creaci\u00f3n del que ser\u00eda el mercado de Santa Caterina.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Este fue el primer mercado techado de toda <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/category\/barcelona\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Barcelona<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, y r\u00e1pidamente gan\u00f3 popularidad entre los locales. Al igual que La Boquer\u00eda, el mercado de Santa Caterina creci\u00f3 con la ciudad, y fue llen\u00e1ndose de productos distintos y variados, procedentes del resto de Catalu\u00f1a y de toda Espa\u00f1a.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Sobrevivi\u00f3 a los conflictos econ\u00f3micos y sociales que sufri\u00f3 la ciudad, resisti\u00f3 la Guerra Civil Espa\u00f1ola y, al igual que muchas otras construcciones antiguas de la capital catalana, atraves\u00f3 diversas reformas. Las m\u00e1s importantes fueron las realizadas en 1997, 2004 y 2005, en las dos primeras ocasiones se agrandaron los espacios, se reforz\u00f3 la estructura y se aseguraron los techos.
