La idea debe ser perderse por sus calles empedradas salpicadas de bonitos edificios coloniales de estilo portugu\u00e9s pintados en diferentes colores.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Durante el paseo se va descubriendo la ciudad que fue capital de Brasil durante m\u00e1s de 200 a\u00f1os. Su rica arquitectura, sus plazas y sobre todo, sus iglesias. Se dice que en Salvador puedes ir a una iglesia distinta cada d\u00eda durante todo un a\u00f1o.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>En el centro del barrio hist\u00f3rico esta la Iglesia Convento de San Francisco y el paseo ira llevando al viajero hasta su puerta. Hay que entrar y disfrutar de esta iglesia barroca, recargada con m\u00e1s de 100 kilos de oro y situada en el top 10 de las iglesias m\u00e1s bonitas de Brasil. Esta gran cruz, mide 12 metros, conmemora la iglesia que ocupo ese mismo espacio hasta 1933 y es, adem\u00e1s, un fant\u00e1stico mirador\u00a0 sobre la Bah\u00eda de Todos los Santos.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Dispersos por el centro y algunos muy cerca del monumento, hay numerosas representaciones t\u00edpicas del Camdombl\u00e9. Para ello se puede tomar uno de los cuatro elevadores que unen la ciudad alta y la ciudad baja. El elevador Lacerda fue inaugurado en 1873 y tiene la friolera de 72 metros de alto, pudiendo transportar a m\u00e1s de 120 personas en 22 segundos. A pesar de la velocidad, las vistas de la ciudad y la bah\u00eda son espectaculares.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Ya en la parte baja, al nivel del mar, se encuentra el Mercado Modelo. Se trata de un hermoso edificio que alberga m\u00e1s de 250 tiendas de artesan\u00eda de todo tipo. Darse un paseo por este lugar es un aut\u00e9ntico placer para los sentidos e incluso para quienes no son aficionados a las compras, ser\u00e1 un verdadero lujo recorrerlo.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Contin\u00faa el paseo por el puerto. En frente, el Fuerte de San Marcelo.
