Capit\u00e1n de Fragata <strong>Louis Ferdinand Martial<\/strong> a bordo de La Romanche y representando a la marina francesa\u00a0 arriba en una expedici\u00f3n cient\u00edfica al Cabo de Hornos entre 1882 y 1883 bautizando el conjunto de islotes con el nombre de <strong>\u00c9claireurs, <\/strong>seg\u00fan el diccionario la traducci\u00f3n ser\u00eda <em>Exploradores<\/em>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>De aquella aventura hay una maqueta del nav\u00edo La Romanche en el Museo Mar\u00edtimo de Ushuaia, que ocupa el antiguo presidio de Ushuaia.
