Sin embargo, la religi\u00f3n principal del pa\u00eds es el cristianismo ortodoxo, por lo que las iglesias cat\u00f3licas cumplen con la funci\u00f3n de templos religiosos y lugares de encuentro para los fieles, quienes son minor\u00eda.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Sin embargo, esto no ha impedido que muchas de las catedrales m\u00e1s maravillosas de la capital bielorrusa sean cat\u00f3licas. Una de ellas es la <strong>Iglesia Roja<\/strong>, famosa por la tonalidad rojiza de sus ladrillos.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>La construcci\u00f3n de esta iglesia empez\u00f3 en 1905, y finaliz\u00f3 en 1910. Anteriormente, a comienzos del siglo XX, los cat\u00f3licos hab\u00edan solicitado a la alcald\u00eda local que les diera permiso para edificar un nuevo templo.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>El proyecto fue aprobado, pero era necesario contar con financiamiento externo.
