Sin embargo, su funci\u00f3n m\u00e1s importante era mantener seguros a los habitantes de Tallin y alejar a los posibles invasores.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Dentro de este complejo sistema de fortalezas, se ubicaba el que hoy en d\u00eda es el Barrio Antiguo, compuesto por las zonas m\u00e1s hist\u00f3ricas de la ciudad. Aunque las murallas ya no existen, a\u00fan es posible ver la notable diferencia que hay entre la zona moderna y la antigua.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>De hecho, hay un punto espec\u00edfico en donde se marca esta separaci\u00f3n, y este es la <strong>Puerta de Viru<\/strong>.
