Una de sus particularidades, es que esta fue la \u00faltima colonia del Imperio Espa\u00f1ol, el cual segu\u00eda dominando los puertos cubanos incluso a inicios del siglo XX, cuando la gran mayor\u00eda de los pa\u00edses americanos ya eran independientes.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Asimismo, Cuba destaca por su curiosa situaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica, ideol\u00f3gica y de gobierno, que la mantuvo aislada durante buena parte de su historia reciente.
