En \u00e9l se expusieron muchos de los antiguos vestigios del mundo griego encontrados en la Acr\u00f3polis y sus alrededores, como esculturas de piedra, estatuillas de bronce, vasijas, vasos y platos.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Debido al limitado tama\u00f1o del antiguo museo, las autoridades griegas se propusieron construir uno nuevo a finales de la d\u00e9cada de 1970, aunque el proyecto no empez\u00f3 a ver luz hasta el a\u00f1o 2000.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Despu\u00e9s de cuatro grandes competiciones de arquitectura, el arquitecto estadounidense <strong>Bernard Tschumi<\/strong> gan\u00f3 la licitaci\u00f3n para dise\u00f1ar este nuevo recinto de la cultura en <a href=\"https:\/\/tripaim.com\/blog\/atenas\/atenas\"><span style=\"color: #842000;\"><strong>Atenas<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. Tschumi construy\u00f3 un impresionante edificio.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>A esta creaci\u00f3n se la conoce como el <strong>Nuevo Museo de la Acr\u00f3polis<\/strong>. La estructura, hecha de vidrio y hormig\u00f3n, fue terminada en 2007 e inaugurada en el a\u00f1o 2009. Se encuentra a unos 300 metros de la Acr\u00f3polis. Los objetos expuestos aqu\u00ed datan desde el siglo VII a.C. hasta el final de las guerras persas. El per\u00edodo arcaico coincide con el florecimiento de las antiguas <strong>ciudades-estado griegas<\/strong>. Tambi\u00e9n es cuando la cultura pol\u00edtica pas\u00f3 de una aristocracia a una tiran\u00eda y finalmente evolucion\u00f3 hacia la democracia.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>Como este fue tambi\u00e9n un per\u00edodo de numerosos logros econ\u00f3micos, pol\u00edticos, art\u00edsticos e intelectuales, la Galer\u00eda Arcaica ha tratado de reflejar este hecho con una vasta y hermosa exposici\u00f3n de historia griega. Arquitect\u00f3nicamente, la galer\u00eda tiene amplios ventanales que la inundan de luz solar.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>La sala central de la <strong>Galer\u00eda del Parten\u00f3n<\/strong> se encuentra en el siguiente piso, y permite a los visitantes ver una presentaci\u00f3n en video sobre el Parten\u00f3n, su historia y los detalles que lo hacen especial. Aqu\u00ed yace la verdadera magia del museo; de hecho, toda la galer\u00eda est\u00e1 dispuesta alrededor de la secci\u00f3n del Parten\u00f3n.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>El recorrido por el museo termina con exposiciones de retratos, copias romanas de obras hel\u00e9nicas cl\u00e1sicas y representaciones de figuras hist\u00f3ricas.
