La urbe resaltaba por su cultura latina, su privilegiada posici\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica y su riqueza arquitect\u00f3nica.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>En la antigua Dubrovnik, en aquel entonces llamada Ragusa, era f\u00e1cil encontrar edificios romanos, construcciones renacentistas e iglesias tan legendarias como la ciudad misma. A pesar de ello, la metr\u00f3poli corr\u00eda peligro, ya que no solo era v\u00edctima de ataques extranjeros, sino que tambi\u00e9n era susceptible a los terremotos.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Muchas de las viviendas y templos religiosos de Dubrovnik hab\u00edan estado en pie durante siglos, pero fueron destruidas cuando un poderoso sismo sacudi\u00f3 la ciudad en el a\u00f1o 1667.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Esta tragedia no solo afect\u00f3 la vida de los locales, sino que acab\u00f3 con buena parte del legado hist\u00f3rico de Ragusa.
