Sin embargo, Uruguay, una peque\u00f1a franja oriental, ubicada entre Argentina, Brasil y el R\u00edo de la Plata, destacaba por su prosperidad.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Los uruguayos tambi\u00e9n hab\u00edan atravesado varias guerras, pero el nuevo siglo luc\u00eda repleto de oportunidades. Muchos empresarios de Montevideo empezaron a crear sedes y f\u00e1bricas modernas, dejando atr\u00e1s la arquitectura colonial.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Entre ese grupo de empresarios, estaban los hermanos Salvo, quienes lideraban un pr\u00f3spero negocio de textiles. Los Salvo quer\u00edan crear un edifico, pero no uno com\u00fan, sino una edificaci\u00f3n que sobresaliera en todo el continente.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>De esta manera, inici\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n del <strong>Palacio Salvo<\/strong>, un enorme edificio de estilo neog\u00f3tico y Art Deco, que se convertir\u00eda en un s\u00edmbolo de la identidad uruguaya.
