Por varios siglos, esta v\u00eda fluvial fue muy importante para el comercio local, adem\u00e1s de abastecer de agua a los habitantes de la zona.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Sin embargo, para que la capital eslovena pudiera seguir creciendo, era necesario unir ambas partes de la urbe, que se encontraban separadas por el r\u00edo Ljubljana. Los primeros puentes que atravesaban las aguas fluviales, eran estructuras precarias, hechas de madera, por lo que las tormentas y los terremotos pod\u00edan destruirlas f\u00e1cilmente.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Sin embargo, el gobierno esloveno sigui\u00f3 intentando construir un puente que fuese lo suficientemente resistente como para soportar cualquier dificultad, pero que tambi\u00e9n armonizara con el resto de las estructuras de la ciudad.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>De esta manera, nace el <strong>Puente de los Zapateros<\/strong>, el cual fue inaugurado en 1931.
