Edinburgh is an ancient city, full of stories that continue to fascinate all who visit. One of the most iconic places in this Scottish metropolis is Edinburgh Castle. This is one of the most visited tourist spots in the country, as well as one of its greatest architectural treasures.

For example, if you visit this palace, you can enter the National War Museum of Scotland, a place that protects the treasure of the Scottish kings. Likewise, on one of the multiple terraces of the palace, is the Mon Megs Canyon, an ancient piece of battery that defended the castle from the invading forces.
Another cannon that identifies this immense fortress is the One O’Clok Gun, a mortar that was active during the Second World War, and that currently fires every day at one in the afternoon, with precise British punctuality.

Although the myths that surround Edinburgh Castle and its museums are responsible for astonishing people who visit it, this palace is also home to several of the most famous and popular festivals in the city.
Edinburgh’s most important celebration is the Military Tattoo, which takes place every August and brings together the vast majority of the Commonwealth armies, who parade proudly outside the palace gates.
