Tallinn, the most important city in Estonia

The Baltic Sea was, for many centuries, the main point of connection between the countries of Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Russia. Because of this, cities grew close to ports and bays, where trade was most active.

One such metropolis, born out of the busy exchange of cultural goods and traditions that took place in the Baltic, was Tallinn. Today, this city is the capital of Estonia, as well as the most populated place in the entire country and where the political power of the State is based.

Tallinn, like other similar cities such as Helsinki or Copenhagen, has a privileged geographical position that made it an area of great relevance for nearby nations, which is why it was the scene of numerous sieges, invasions and battles.

Over the centuries, Tallinn experienced moments of extreme difficulty, especially during World War II and the era of Soviet control. However, the city resurfaced at the end of the 20th century, and many places of historical interest, such as Fat Margaret Tower, became symbols for locals and wonderful tourist attractions.
