It is already known that Madrid is a city full of things to do and see, however, if you have three days during your visit, then you have an excellent opportunity to fully enjoy it, and even give yourself the luxury of reaching places of interest that They are located a little further from the tourist area. It is totally true, Madrid stands out for a large number of museums, squares, parks and streets full of history in the center of the city. But how about we save our first day to see other things?
Big cities are to explore thoroughly, and by that we mean that they deserve to be known beyond the places where everyone goes. For this reason, if you want to take a dip in the authentic daily life of Madrid, the best thing to do is take a walk through some of its traditional neighbourhoods, meet its people, buildings and establishments.
As an example, you can take a walk through the iconic neighborhoods of Lavapiés and Embajadores, full of color and bohemian life. In them you can find cafes, bookstores or some simple tapas bar, but very good.
On the other hand, if your interests are more oriented towards shopping and chic, then it is worth going to the Salamanca district, one of the most charming and sought after in the city, where you will find countless shops of the most famous brands, in the middle of its busy pedestrian streets.
In the same way, you can take advantage of this first day to take a look at some emblematic sports venues in Madrid, such as the Las Ventas Bullring and the Santiago Bernabéu or Vicente Calderón stadiums, although this will depend a lot on your preference for Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.
You can close the day with a walk at sunset in Madrid Río Park, a beautiful and modern space that offers pleasant views of the Manzanares River in contrast to the rest of the city.
Art can be enjoyable for everyone, especially if we talk about Madrid. In this city the museums are really worth it, and they do not become those rigid enclosures that bore many people in other cities of the world.
That is why, even if you are not a fan of the plastic arts, the museum triangle made up of the Museo Nacional del Prado, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza is truly a world-class must-see. In addition, in them you will be able to appreciate works by the greatest authors and, best of all, the route to get from one to the other is quite short.
After a museum job, you can get to know the Parque del Buen Retiro, which is also quite close and has a lot to show.
For our closing day in Madrid, we can start an interesting tour at Puerta del Sol, and from there reach Gran Vía while enjoying its traditional architecture. Later, we will find other emblematic places, such as the Plaza Mayor of Madrid, the Plaza de Oriente, the Royal Palace of Madrid and the Plaza de España.
As a culmination, the sunset can be enjoyed in an exquisite way in the Temple of Debod, a wonderful place made up of Egyptian buildings. You see, Madrid in three days sounds pretty good.
