Visiting Florence in 2 days and enjoying everything the city has to offer is completely possible, you just have to have a good itinerary. If it is in your plans to pay a short visit to the beautiful capital of Tuscany, stay with us, and discover everything you can do in Florence in just 48 hours.
Before starting your walk through Florence, you must allocate your time appropriately. You can dedicate the tourist route on the first day to the must-sees, those places in the city that, yes or yes, you have to see.
As for the second day, it is advisable that you leave it for a more relaxed walk, with less haste, in which you can appreciate the everyday atmosphere of the Florentines.
If you need a little help putting together your travel plan, we advise you to start your tour of Florence in 2 days in the famous Piazza del Duomo. Located in the historic center, there are the Florence Cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery of San Juan and the Loggia del Bigallo.
Going to the Duomo Square is to see a huge exhibition of architecture and art, presented before the eyes of the Florentine citizens and all the visitors. After you’ve finished your walk around the square, go to the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest inhabited bridge in all of Europe.
In order not to miss out on the experience of going to a great Florentine museum, you can buy tickets for the Accademia Gallery online. This way you will pass without queuing, and you can enjoy the rest of the day appreciating the incredible works of art that are in the place.
Your second day in Florence can start at Piazzale Michelangelo, the best viewpoint in the city. If you arrive early, the space will still be clear and you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the city of Florence.
While, on the other side of the river Arno, after crossing the Ponte Vecchio, you will find yourself near the Piazza de la Signoria. There you will see the well-known Palazzo Vecchio, the equestrian sculpture of Grand Duke Cosimo I, the statue of Perseus holding the head of Medusa and the sculpture of Neptune above the central fountain.
From there, you can head to the Uffizi Museum, where many of the most important works of the Renaissance are exhibited. As with the Accademia Gallery, if you want to save time, buy your entrance tickets in advance.
To conclude, go to the Plaza de la Señoría, where there is a wide variety of food stalls and cafes, perfect to sit and enjoy the afternoon.
When you arrive in Florence, you will notice that this mythical city is actually small. It can be walked without problems, and if you need to get from one place to another quickly, there is a wide bus line that connects it completely.
Similarly, much of the city’s charm is found in its streets, several of them as old as Florence itself. So the simple fact of being there and being able to live all its history is simply incredible. Do not wait more! And come to know Florence in 2 days.
