Do you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Milan and discover a beautiful oasis in the middle of the city? If so, go ahead and visit Sempione Park, a huge space surrounded by trees, vegetation and a pleasant artificial lake. If you needed a space to relax, you have found the ideal option.

Sempione Park was built behind the Sforzesco Castle, between 1890 and 1893, inspired by the English gardens of the 14th century. At the time of its creation, part of the castle was also demolished, the space that was used for horse races and other celebration rooms.
Throughout its 47 hectares of vegetation, flowers and trails, both locals and tourists gather at any time of the year to enjoy an afternoon outdoors.
Within the park you will find a wide variety of trees from all over the world, such as Holly, Catalpa, Atlas Cedar, Himalayan Cedar and Incense Cedar. In addition, they inhabit various animals such as ducks, squirrels and birds.
In addition to this, the park has some interesting buildings, such as La Triennale, a foundation that promotes the development of avant-garde Italian arts and architecture. There is also the Civic Aquarium with more than 100 marine species, and the Civic Arena, the amphitheater where concerts and athletics events are held.

Sempione Park is much more than trees and paths. It is an ideal space to disconnect from the routine and carry out weekend activities, such as having a picnic or riding a bicycle. And if you don’t have one of your own, don’t worry! In some of the entrances to the park you will find stations available to rent a bike.
Later, if you get tired of pedaling, you can rest under the shade of one of the trees that surround the area. Those moments are ideal to read a book and delve into the Parco Sempione Library, located in the same park.
On the other hand, several important museums are located here, such as the Triennale and the museums of the Sforzesco Castle. The first is dedicated to design, architecture and art. It also has a garden with a café, a restaurant and a bar. As for the castle museums, you can see works by Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo, among other things.
Finally, you cannot leave the park without photographing the Arco della Pace. This monument can be seen from the entrance to the Sforzesco Castle. So do not miss the opportunity to take a beautiful photograph of this corner of Milan.

To get to Sempione Park we advise going by public transport. Especially if you are in the city center, as the park is minutes from the Duomo. As for schedules, the park opens its doors every day of the week.
Today the park is frequented by Milanese looking to relax or sunbathe. As you walk through it, you will find beautiful paths and romantic corners, ideal for contemplating nature. In addition, it has large fields for children to play.
So don’t miss the opportunity to end your tour of Milan by visiting this green lung in the heart of the city. You’re going to love it!
