Do you want to enjoy the best views of the city located on two continents? Then you should not miss these incredible Istanbul viewpoints from where you can contemplate the beautiful landscape and unforgettable sunsets. Come discover them!
The list of the best viewpoints in Istanbul begins with one of the most popular places in the area, the Galata Tower. Located in the neighborhood with the same name, this medieval tower built in 1348 is the most chosen to contemplate the landscape.
Thanks to its 67 meters high, from there you can see the Bosphorus River and the Golden Horn. It also has a cafeteria and a restaurant to enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by incredible views of the city.
Another tourist attraction that guards a privileged landscape is the Topkapi Palace. This former residence of emperors has two viewpoints. From one you can see the Asian part of Istanbul, and from the other the European part. Two amazing views!
In addition to their architecture and historical relevance, Istanbul’s mosques offer incredible views of the city. One of the most chosen used as a viewpoint is the Soliman Mosque.
As it is located on a hill in the city, it has extensive gardens from which you can see the Golden Horn. It also has large courtyards, ideal for photographing the buildings that surround it.
On the other hand, the Çamlıca Mosque is another unmissable place to contemplate the city. Since its inauguration in 2019, it has won the prize for the largest in Istanbul, overthrowing Solimán’s.
The Çamlıca Mosque is located in the Üsküdar neighborhood, in the Asian area of Istanbul. Thanks to the height of the hill where it was built, it is a strategic point from where you can see the entire city, ideal for those who want to take photos of the landscape.
Finally, many parks in Istanbul function as incredible viewpoints that may go unnoticed by tourists. Most of them are located around the Bosphorus River or high enough to admire the city’s landscape.
In the case of Gülhane Park, the largest in Istanbul, it shelters wonderful views of both continents, as well as the strait and the port full of fishermen.
While in the hills of Besiktas there is the Ulus Park, which provides a panoramic landscape of the entire Bosphorus. In addition, it has an area of restaurants and cafes.
But if you opt for a place without food areas, Fatih Park is ideal. It is located next to the bridge to which it owes its name, in the Asian part of Istanbul. From there, the image of the strait together with the bridges that cross it, generate a unique postcard.
On the other hand, in the European zone of the Fatih bridge, there is the Rumeli Hisarustu Duatepe park. In addition to the Bosphorus, buildings such as the Anatolian Fortress and the Hidiv Pavilion are also seen. In this case, it does have cafes.
Finally, to also enjoy the green area, it is best to visit the Mihrabad Park. Located near the Black Sea, this kind of forest frames the postcard of the Bosphorus with its pines and laurels.
