The architectural variety and diversity of designs make Berlin, the German capital, a unique city. In it it is possible to see constructions of past centuries, avant-garde buildings and some others that are mixtures of both. The perfect example of this union is the Reichstag Dome, a large glass structure that rises above the historic seat of the German Parliament.

Due to this, the country was divided in two, Federal and Democratic Germany. This separation was marked by the Berlin Wall, a symbol of the Cold War. When it disappeared in 1989, the Germans struggled to reunite both parts of the capital.
One of the projects chosen to represent the union of Germany was the construction of the new Reichstag Dome. The creation of this space was an architectural challenge, and it could not be inaugurated until 1999.
This dome stands out for being made of crystal and glass, as well as being completely transparent. Similarly, it is possible to see through it, and from above the Reichstag Dome offers a perfect view of the parliament hall.
Also, the structure’s simple but formal appearance makes it one of Berlin’s most distinctive features.
