Seville offers many green areas to enjoy a walk in the fresh air and disconnect from the city. One of them is the Parque de María Luisa, a green lung where there are also monuments and sculptures to admire.
This place is named after María Luisa Fernanda de Borbón, the duchess who donated these gardens in 1914 to the city. Since then, every corner of this park, added to its paths and ponds, give the feeling of being in a fairy tale.
Another important place in the city that deserves a visit is the Plaza de España. Its construction dates back to 1929 and it is surrounded by buildings located in a way that seems to embrace its visitors.
A striking detail of its building are the benches and tiles in honor of the Spanish provinces. It also has a canal over 500 meters long where you can take a boat ride.
The walk through the center of the city and its most important buildings begins with the Cathedral of Seville, declared a World Heritage Site. It is a Gothic-style temple that exceeds eleven thousand meters.
Any way you look at it, this building has amazing architectural details. In addition, it is said that inside is the tomb of Christopher Columbus.
But an icon of the Cathedral is La Giralda. It is the bell tower that rises above the temple, which can be visited to enjoy the views of the city. Without a doubt, it is a unique experience!
Another UNESCO World Heritage Site in Seville is the Real Alcázar, a palace dating back to the 11th century. It is considered one of the most incredible buildings in the city thanks to its halls decorated in Arabic, Gothic and Baroque styles. But mainly because of the beautiful palace gardens. Every corner of this place looks like something out of a movie!
In Seville, one of the activities that cannot be missed is a tour of some of its most popular museums. First of all, the Museum of Fine Arts and its important collection of Baroque-style paintings. Located in the Convento de la Merced, the museum houses works by artists such as Zurbarán, Murillo and Valdés Leal.
Also declared a World Heritage Site, the Archivo de Indias is one of the most famous buildings in Seville. This Renaissance-style construction preserves important historical documents, such as maps, drawings and manuscripts.
Finally, a peculiar museum is located in the Torre del Oro located on the Guadalquivir River. Inside this 36 meter high place is the Naval Museum.
It is a space dedicated to the education of the maritime history of Spain, such as maritime voyages and discoveries made over the years. In this way, since its foundation they have been in charge of disseminating naval culture to protect the historical heritage of the Spanish Navy.
