Three days to get to know a city may seem like little, but, if you plan well, it is more than enough. If your next destination is Amsterdam and time is not your best ally, do not hesitate to consult the following guide, where we present you the unmissable of this wonderful city in three days.
The first day will be very useful to acclimatize to the city, and this involves trying the typical dishes of Amsterdam, appreciating its canals, magnificent architecture and diverse environment. Some of the most important activities for this day may be riding a bicycle or taking a boat trip through the city’s canals.
In fact, cycling is a great way to get a quick, concise look at the city. The vast majority of its inhabitants use them, and Amsterdam’s bicycle lanes have no comparison with those of other cities in the world.
Do not worry if you do not have a bicycle, it is possible to rent it for a very affordable price, and use it throughout the day. In the middle of the tour you can choose between its various parks to rest, one of the most recommended is Vondelpark.
If you feel like it, you can also use your first day to take a boat tour of the famous canals. As with bicycles, this type of ride allows you to appreciate the beautiful images that Amsterdam offers, without having to expend too much energy while doing it.
To make the best use of your time, it is essential to get up early. With any luck, you will arrive at the Anne Frank Museum or the Van Gogh Museum before the long lines form to enter. Keep in mind that since Amsterdam is such a touristy city, the lines to enter the points of interest will be a constant on your trip, therefore, the earlier you arrive, the better the experience will be.
The second day of your stay is also the perfect time to visit Amsterdam’s famous flower market, one of the symbols of the city in its own right. In this market, which has existed for centuries, you will be able to appreciate one of the main Dutch export products, tulips. It should be noted that the Dutch flowers are of the highest quality, and internationally recognized as objects of high value.
And to complete your day, you can go to the National Museum of Amsterdam or Rijskmuseum, the most important in the whole country. In this place it is possible to find interesting works that are inherited from the Dutch Golden Age.
You can be sure that your last day in Amsterdam will be quite hectic, especially if you dedicate it to touring the internationally famous Red Light District.
This is an almost obligatory stop, depending on the morale of each visitor, but if you are looking for something eccentric and daring, you will find it here. The Red Light District may not be for everyone, but the experience is worth it.
On the other hand, the third day can also include a walk through Dam Square, a meeting place a few meters from the Royal Palace, where the inhabitants gather to share or attend one of the many cultural events that take place there.
Without a doubt, Amsterdam has a special magic that captivates those who visit it, especially if you spend three days getting to know this magnificent Dutch city.
